Clinical Education Day – 22 September 2017

You are warmly invited to attend the Clinical Education Day which is being held this year in conjunction with our undergraduate education colleagues from QUB on Friday 22 September 2017 at Riddel Hall.

This all-day event is targeted at the medical and dental professionals who provide leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate education of doctors and dentists in training in Northern Ireland.

The aim of this conference is to inform, equip and inspire Northern Ireland’s Medical and Dental Educators.

The year’s conference is titled Deliver, Shape, Enhance and Lead.

We are delighted to attract such a high calibre of national and regional medical and dental leaders and educators to contribute to what we anticipate will be a varied, stimulating, informative and challenging programme.

There is a key note address on Health and Wellbeing 2026: Delivering Together, a symposia on Technology Enhanced Learning, on Shape of Training (tailored for Specialty/GP Educators), on Responsible Use of Social Media (tailored for Dental Educators), parallel workshops in the morning and afternoon across a wide range of areas as well as opportunities to network with colleagues at break times and over lunch.

In addition to local talented educational leaders from HSC Trusts, NIMDTA and QUB, this year we welcome Dr Michael McBride (DoH), Ms Katherine McGirr (GDC), Dr Colin Melville (GMC), Prof. Peter Donnelly and Dr Helen Baker (Cardiff University), Prof. Luke Dawson (University of Liverpool) and  Prof. Ian Finlay (Scottish Government).

To round off the day, Professor Michael West, Head of Thought Leadership at The King’s Fund will be seeking to stimulate and challenge your thinking and to inspire you to embrace Collective Leadership.  This is a fantastic opportunity directly from Professor West who has contributed significantly to the development of a HSC Leadership Strategy for Northern Ireland.
