Committee on Vocational Training (NI)
The functions of the CVT (NI) are:
1. To formulate policy and advise on the standards required for Vocational Training in Northern Ireland.
2. To promote Vocational Training for Northern Ireland.
3. To participate in educational and financial audit of the schemes and to assist the Postgraduate Dental Dean in financial oversight and reports.
4. To formulate a strategic plan for Vocational Training.
5. To facilitate training courses for those involved in organisation and management of Vocational Training.
6. To encourage and monitor the use of peer review and audit within the Vocational Training structure.
7. To liaise with other organisations involved in Dental education.
8. To have a substantial role in the appointment of Trainers via the appropriate mechanisms within NIMDTA.
9. To liaise with other Vocational Training organisations in the UK and collaborate with them on UK activities and projects.
10. To monitor and maintain consistency of management and training standards including Assessment and Certification of VDPs and be included in "cross visiting" with Vocational Training Schemes in Scotland, England and Wales.
11. To have a substantial role in the appointment and review of Regional Adviser and Vocational Training Adviser(s) via the appropriate mechanism in NIMDTA.
