HPE - Higher Professional Education

Introduction
The HPE Scheme was introduced in 2004 for newly trained GPs in Northern Ireland. The scheme is intended to support newly qualified GPs during the early days, post Vocational Training, providing educational support to ease the transition from Vocational Training to independent clinical practice. Due to the many conflicting pressures on time during the Registrar year, it is impossible to cover everything in detail. The HPE programme is designed to assist in addressing learning needs identified at the final appraisal before leaving the training practice.
Who can participate?

The scheme is open to ALL doctors working in Northern Ireland General Practice, who received their PMETB certificate within the previous year.

What is available?

The HPE Introductory meeting is on Wednesday 5th September 2007, 6.30pm (finger buffet) 7.00pm - 9.00pm. This evening will include planning the year ahead in relation to your educational needs and self employment personal financial management. Book your place today - click on this link

NIMDTA will look at the needs of HPE doctors identified in the Form VI of the GP appraisal documentation and arrange relevant courses where possible

Educational bursaries to support placements on approved courses
