Team Development using Myers Briggs Type Indicator

Facilitated by Dr Maureen Crawford

This offers a 1/2 day workshop where partners and staff in a practice can look at their Myers Briggs personality type and use this information to improve understanding of their own and others’ behaviour. The MBTI describes our preferred ways of thinking, making decisions and dealing with life. There are no ‘better’ or ‘worse’ personality types, just a wide range of variation in normal healthy people. These are distilled by the MBTI into 16 combinations.

An understanding of your own and others’ preferences can help to identify special strengths, give insight into what kind of work you might enjoy and be successful at, and how to relate to people with different preferences. The session will start with a questionnaire, which should take a maximum of 30 minutes. The rest of the time will include:

  • an explanation of the different Myers Briggs types
  • time for each participant to consider their own type
  • exercises and games to illustrate how different types operate.

These are non-threatening and should be a fun way of improving team functioning.

It is an ethical requirement of those using the MBTI to ensure that this is a voluntary activity. No one should be compelled to take part.

Individuals or teams are very welcome

A number of MBTI events will be organised with 30 places available. If several practices wish to join locally, to form a group of approx 30, it may be possible to arrange a session for them in their locality.

COST - £10 per person
