Some Myths Dispelled!
- Deployments are largely voluntary. 204 (NI) Field Hospital (V) has been selected to deploy 60-70 volunteers to Afghanistan in 2008 for 3 months.
- You cannot be deployed whilst in training. SpRs may volunteer for deployment so long as there is an appropriate Consultant available to supervise training.
- There is no binding contract. Whilst we may ask you to sign up for 3 years, this is for us to use as a planning tool. Should you not like the TA, you may return your equipment and leave at any time, alternatively you can take a career break.
- Health Professionals can join up to the age of 50 years old.
