DIRECTOR OF FOUNDATION SCHOOL 

Remuneration: 6 PAs (consultant contract) to be incorporated into job plan in agreement with the employing authority

Tenure: Permanent

The successful applicant will be based at NIMDTA and will join a team of enthusiastic senior clinical educators and managers and work in a leadership position across Northern Ireland.

As Director of the Foundation School he/she will be responsible for developing and managing medical Foundation training, ensuring that all Foundation training within NIMDTA meets the quality standards set by the GMC and the requirements of the UK Foundation Programme Curriculum.

LAY REPRESENTATIVE OPPORTUNITIES 

Remuneration: Payment will be made on the basis of £35 per full hour.

Half day rate £140, daily rate £280 to include preparation and travel time.

An additional payment of up to 1 hour may be given for Preparation & Report Writing.

Lay Representatives will also be eligible to claim mileage costs.

Tenure: Up to 3 Years with a review at 12 months

Lay Representatives will be part of NIMDTA’s Quality Management processes in the oversight of Medical and Dental Education in Northern Ireland. The Lay Representative is non-medical and dental and impartial and has a fundamental role of ensuring transparency and adherence to due process.  Lay Representatives will be asked to attend events and to contribute to discussions and produce reports to the Postgraduate Dean advising on good practice and offering solutions to how processes could be improved.

ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR PLACEMENT QUALITY 

Remuneration: 4 PAs (consultant contract) to be incorporated into job plan in agreement with the employing authority

Tenure: Permanent

The successful applicant will join a team of enthusiastic senior clinical educators and work in a leadership position across Northern Ireland.

As Associate Dean for Placement Quality Improvement and a NIMDTA Senior Educator he/she will assist the Director of Professional Development and the Postgraduate Medical Dean to improve the quality of postgraduate hospital-based education and training placements.

He/she will work closely with educators from NIMDTA and Local Education Providers to define what quality in hospital-based education and training units looks like, to establish evidence-based benchmarks of quality and to promote excellence by supporting continuous improvements in safe supervision, trainee engagement, quality of training and trainee experience. He/she will liaise closely with Directors of Medical Education and NIMDTA Educators to identify, highlight, share, spread and embed good practice in postgraduate medical education and training.
