GIM Teaching
The GIM teaching programme has been put together for all General (Internal) Medicine trainees.  There are 5 GIM Teaching dates a year which take place once every two/three months and are rotated around Trusts/Hospitals.

Ill Medical Patients Acute Care and Treatment (IMPACT)
Designed by the Federation of Royal Medical Colleges and the Royal College of Anaesthetists, this 2-day course introduces the principles and practice of acute general medical care and the related knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes.

The course provides senior trainees (IM1/CT2) in Medicine with key point presentations, workshops, “hands on” skills stations and critically ill patient scenarios to enhance skills needed for dealing with life-threatening medical emergencies.

IMPACT Courses are currently only available to NI DEANERY IM1 Trainees.

Internal (IM1 & Core Medical (CT2) Teaching
A CMT teaching programme has been co-ordinated to assist trainees with exam preparation.

All Teaching Sessions will be held (unless otherwise stated) in NIMDTA once a month from 2pm to 5pm and are video linked to hospital sites in Altnagelvin, Daisy Hill, Causeway & South West Acute.

Nephrology (Renal)

Nephrology (Renal) Teaching Dates for 2019-2021

Where possible Seminars will run on the SECOND TUESDAY (BCH) or SECOND THURSDAY
(UHD/ANTRIM). Please check the timetable as some changes have been necessary to
facilitate individual presenters.

If a session needs to be changed during the year. Try to give 6 weeks’ notice to allow
colleagues to reschedule clinics and maximise attendance.

Regional Respiratory Teaching

Registrar Ready Course
This course is aimed towards CT2s only and a follow on from the IM1 IMPACT Course. This course aims to prepare CT2s for moving onto the Registrar Rota with the use of simulation and scenarios.
