CareFall e-Learning for Foundation level doctors

The Royal College of Physicians has developed e-learning for foundation level Doctors titled ‘CareFall’ which is on the topic of reducing inpatient falls risk factors and post fall management. CareFall can be accessed via: http://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/preventing-falls/

In-patient falls are the commonest reported in-patient safety incident. Foundation trainees are often asked to review these complex patients with, at times, life threatening injuries. However there is often no or limited teaching in medical schools or in induction programmes on how to assess falls risks and assess patients after a fall.

CareFall has been designed and developed by NHS England, the Clinical Effectiveness and Evaluation Unit (CEEU) at the Royal College of Physicians (London), with the involvement of junior doctors in order to deliver this knowledge in an interactive e-learning package with an accompanying workbook.
