NIMDTA and the HSC Leadership Centre (HSCLC) host their Engage Showcase Event annually as part of the ENGAGE Clinical Leadership and Improvement Programme. The event enables trainees to showcase their learning and achievements by presenting Quality Improvement (QI) projects.
The first ENGAGE programme began in December 2016 and has been continually growing in success over this time. The programme has been facilitated throughout the years by Mrs Paula O’Kelly and Mr David Cairnduff from the HSCLC.
ENGAGE has been designed in conjunction with the HSC Leadership Centre. This programme aims to challenge, develop and support doctors and dentists who are within six to 18 months of CCT in specialty training to ensure that they are prepared to lead effectively so that they can influence, shape and improve the delivery of high quality patient-centred care.
Participants will normally attend seven modules between October and June and then participate in the showcase event finale. These modules will be delivered by consultants from the HSC Leadership Centre with input from senior clinical leaders and improvers from the HSC as well as external contributors. Dates and times can be found on the programme below.
During the programme, participants will complete a Quality Improvement project. This may be a project that the participant has already started or needs to complete as part of their curriculum. This Quality Improvement project should not be viewed as additional work but rather the programme will act as a catalyst and support the completion of this initiative. Quality Improvement work will be displayed during the showcase event with the opportunity for trainees to compete for oral presentation prizes.
Further information about the showcase event can be found within the Newsletter and Programmes below.
