Study Leave & Taster Modules

All F2 study leave must be approved prospectively by the Trust teams and by NIMDTA. Please ensure the electronic form is fully completed at least 4 weeks in advance as requests occasionally have to be declined because they do not fall within the guidelines.

FLiGHT days do not require an application, but they still need to be agreed in advance with the Trusts. There are multiple dates for each module so please spread them out between September and May.

Exam days and anything recruitment related such as the MSRA are not suitable for Study Leave, they require local Trust agreement.

Please also read the Foundation Taster guidelines. Some organisations offer educational opportunities that they call ‘Taster days.’ These should not be applied for as Foundation Taster applications, although Study Leave may be approved for any appropriate educational events, including these.

All Study Leave should be agreed by your Clinical Supervisor and Foundation Programme Director before submitting for NIMDTA approval.
