Clinical Education Day 2024 – “Innovate, Educate, Elevate”

NIMDTA, in partnership with undergraduate colleagues from Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University, were delighted to deliver their annual ‘Clinical Education Day’ conference on Friday 13th September 2024.

The theme for this year’s conference is entitled 'Innovate, Educate, Elevate’ and was hosted in the stunning Ulster University Belfast Campus!

This year’s event was extra special for two main reasons namely, this was the first year Ulster University has had the opportunity to host Clinical Education Day, plus -  this year’s event attracted its largest attendance since its inception.

The 2024 conference delivered a packed programme of presentations and workshops tailored for medical and dental professionals who provide educational leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate education in Northern Ireland.

Dr Camille Harron, Postgraduate Dean and Director of Education for NIMDTA said,

“The aim of this conference is always to inform, equip and inspire Northern Ireland’s Medical and Dental Educators and we were delighted to attract such a high calibre of national and regional medical and dental leaders and educators to contribute to what was a varied, stimulating, informative and challenging programme.

This event brought together the full spectrum of educators committed to ensuring that current and future doctors and dentists receive high-quality education and training as part of the HSC workforce.

I was delighted to attend extremely engaging and thought-provoking presentations from inspirational speakers throughout the day, and the positive feedback received from colleagues regarding the event programme has been simply wonderful!”

Professor Louise Dubras, Foundation Dean of the School of Medicine, Ulster University said,

"Ulster University was extremely proud to host the NIMDTA Clinical Education Day at our Belfast campus this year for the first time. This event not only demonstrates the commitment of the University to the education of healthcare professionals and in particular doctors, but also our wonderful partnership working with NIMDTA and Queen’s University Belfast to achieve that.

For the School of Medicine, this event is one of several that will take place in our 2024-25 academic year, which will culminate in the graduation of our first cohort of doctors. In the short time since we opened in 2021, we can demonstrate real impact on the medical workforce, and patient care in Northern Ireland, and look forward to this growing further in the future"
