New 'Simulation Based Education' Newsletter released!

Members of NIMDTA Simulation Based Education school have launched a new Newsletter series to inform Trainees on the wonderful achievements and trends associated with medical simulation.

Dr Anita Smyth, Director of Hospital Specialty and Professional Development in NIMDTA said:

“We are delighted to launch the first edition of the Simulation Newsletter.

Simulation Based Education (SBE) is an area of Medical Education that is growing exponentially, not only in Northern Ireland but across the globe. This newsletter is for both trainees and trainers new to SBE, and also established simulation enthusiasts!

The Simulation Newsletter shares highlights of recent simulation events including SESAM Lisbon, gives important dates for the diary for the coming year and provides links to simulation resources.

Important Update: Medical Training (Prioritisation) Act becomes law

The Government’s Medical Training (Prioritisation) Act has now been passed by Parliament and become law. The Act brings in new rules which prioritise UK medical graduates for foundation training and give preference to UK graduates and doctors with significant NHS experience for specialty training.
