NIMDTA makes an impressive impact at DEMEC 2025
NIMDTA was proud to make an impressive impact at the Developing Excellence in Medical Education Conference (DEMEC) held at the ICC in Birmingham, Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th December 2025.
This flagship event brought together leading organisations in medical education and training across the UK to explore strategies for building a globally sustainable healthcare workforce.

Throughout the two-day conference, our team connected with delegates, shared insights, and showcased the wide-ranging opportunities available to doctors and dentists in training in Northern Ireland. DEMEC provided an invaluable platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation in postgraduate education.
Dr Paul Leggett, Director of Postgraduate General Practice Education NIMDTA, contributed as a guest speaker, reinforcing NIMDTA’s commitment to advancing excellence in clinical education and supporting career development for all grades of doctors and dentists.

Dr Charlotte Irwin, GPST3 and ADEPT Alumni with NIMDTA also promoted the amazing support RRDIT’s experience during one of the executive breakout sessions when presenting on the many initiatives and successes achieved from our ‘New to Northern Ireland’ programme.

The conference featured plenary sessions, symposia, workshops, and poster presentations focused on key themes such as:
• Supporting every doctor and dentist to reach their full potential
• Enhancing well-being, retention, and training through employment practices
• Preparing future leaders to deliver high-quality patient care
Thank you to everyone who visited our stand and engaged with us during DEMEC 2025. We look forward to continuing these conversations and working together to shape the future of medical education.
