ST3 GP Trainees bring unique ways to share knowledge during their Celebration Day!

Quirky Crosswords, GP themed Monopoly and Car Journey themed tales were just some of the unique and fun presentations delivered during The NIMDTA GP Training Team ‘ST3 Day of Celebration’ in the Corrs Corner Hotel, Newtownabbey on Thursday 30 June 2022.

The event provided ST3 GP Trainees based within GP Practices across NI, the opportunity to meet in person, and share their experiences, knowledge and outcomes in an interactive and stimulating way.

Dr Kathryn Potter welcomed all Trainees to the event and set the scene for an action-packed agenda. The morning session was delievered by Trainee representatives from each area group with each one relecting on educational highlights and experencies during the past year.

The afternooon session saw Trainees captivated by the ‘The Double Derry PD Duo’ namely Derval Dolan and Diane Robinson, with their insightful reflections ‘Distilling the Wisdom’, and then Dr Rosalind Haydock took everyone for a spin down memory lane with a delighful and informative car journey themed presentation.

Dr Louise Sands then provided Trainees with an introduction to the new GPNI website and information on the GP Retainer Scheme. Following this Dr Lawrence Dorman presented key updates from the Royal College of General Practitioners, and the closing remarks of the day were delivered by none other than NIMDTAs Director of GP Training, Dr Michele Stone.

We wish all the ST3 GP Trainees a pleasant summer and look forward to more fun and engaging celebration days!
