NIMDTA in partnership with the GMC, RQIA, Health and Social Care Board, HSC Safety Forum, HSC Leadership Centre and HSC Trusts are pleased to launch a completely new scheme – the Adept NI Clinical Leadership Fellows Programme.
This programme is open to senior trainees in GP or Specialty Postgraduate Medical Training Programmes in NI who would be interested in taking a one-year period of time Out of Programme for Experience (OOPE) to develop leadership, management and organisational skills and contribute to improving the delivery of healthcare and medical education in NI.
Leadership Fellows will be appointed through a competitive process involving submission of an application form, attendance at interview and delivery of a presentation.
Leadership Fellows will undertake one or more specific projects in their host organisation under supervision, attend leadership training and be provided with fantastic opportunities to network and learn with healthcare colleagues. During their fellowships, the fellows will be working with senior leaders in host organisations in Northern Ireland in an apprenticeship model.
The scheme aims to provide Health and Social Care NI (HSC NI) with doctors who have the knowledge, skills and experience to offer leadership in their workplace and more widely in HSC NI whenever they complete training.
