Conflict in healthcare teams has direct implications for both staff and patients so prompt and successful resolution is essential to ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services. Therefore, while it may not be possible to avoid conflict you can learn to manage it effectively, even possibly transforming it into a positive force for change.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognised your conflict management style
  • Evaluated a model of conflict management within the healthcare context
  • Explored the role of personality and communication style awareness in conflict resolution
  • Considered a range of strategies and skills for dealing with conflict
  • Applied your learning to address issues raised through healthcare-based case-studies

Time: 09:15 - 12:30
