Achieving Recognition

Since July 2016, it is a GMC requirement for a supervisor in a named Educational Supervisor (ES) or Clinical Supervisor (CS) role to be appropriately trained.

NIMDTA have developed the STATUS programme of courses to enable trainers to meet these requirements:

Supervisory Skills

Teaching the Teacher

Anti-discrimination (Equality and Diversity Training)

Trainee Support

Unique to Specialty/Programme (training unique to specialty – curriculum, WPBAs, supervisor’s reports, ARCP decision aids)

If you are supervising a trainee or plan to supervise during the next rotation, please contact your local Medical Education Centre to be considered for recognition.

Your details will then be added to the circulation list for upcoming Achieving Recognition courses.

For further details on the process, please see the below guide. Alternative courses have also been approved as equivalent to the NIMDTA delivered sessions and details can be found in the below flyer.
