Empowering SAS Doctors Through Quality Improvement Training
Unlock Your Potential. Drive Meaningful Change.
Specialty and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care across Northern Ireland. Yet many encounter barriers when it comes to initiating and leading meaningful change within their clinical environments.
NIMDTA SAS Career Development offers two dedicated programmes designed to bridge that gap and empower SAS doctors to lead improvement:
Our Programmes
SAS Quality Improvement (QI) Programme
A comprehensive course providing in-depth training in Quality Improvement methodologies, equipping you with the knowledge and tools to design and deliver effective QI initiatives.
CHRYSALIS Leadership Programme
A leadership-focused programme where QI is embedded throughout, supporting participants to develop, lead, and implement a QI project within their clinical setting.
Making a Difference: The Impact of QI Projects
Through participation in these programmes, SAS doctors are equipped to identify everyday challenges in their workplace and take practical steps to address them. This not only enhances patient care and service delivery, but also supports professional development and revalidation requirements. Importantly, it enables participants to contribute to wider healthcare priorities across Northern Ireland, including the Quality 2020 strategy.
What You’ll Gain
Participants benefit from a dynamic learning experience that includes:
- Interactive workshops led by experienced faculty
- Practical QI toolkits to support real-world application
- Personalised coaching and mentorship
- Opportunities to design and deliver a QI project tailored to your clinical area
By the end of the programme, you will have developed a strong understanding of proven QI methodologies, strengthened your leadership and innovation skills, and produced a completed or well-developed project ready to make a meaningful impact.
Who Should Attend?
These programmes are open to SAS doctors across all specialties who are motivated to improve services, progress their careers, and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Join a growing community of SAS doctors leading positive change across Northern Ireland, and take the next step in shaping better healthcare.
