#SASWeek2026 – Return of the SAS Awards! 

Following the success of our first Regional SAS Awards Event in 2024 and the nominee spotlight during SAS Week 2025, we are delighted to announce the return of the SAS Awards for #SASWeek2026. 

The awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of SAS doctors and dentists across Northern Ireland, recognising excellence in clinical practice, leadership, education, and service development across the Health and Social Care system. 

 

Nominations now open 

Nominations are now open for the 2026 SAS Awards. Colleagues across HSC are encouraged to recognise and celebrate the achievements of SAS doctors and dentists within their teams. 

 

Award categories 

Nominations are invited across the following categories: 

  • SAS Clinical Achievement Award 
  • SAS Undergraduate Educator Award 
  • SAS Postgraduate Educator Award 
  • SAS Clinical Leadership Award 
  • SAS Non-clinical Leadership Award 
  • SAS Innovation in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award 
  • SAS Community Interface Award 
  • SAS Sustainability Award 
  • SAS Champion Award 
  • SAS Lifetime Achievement Award 

 

Event details 

The SAS Awards Event will take place on Thursday 1st October 2026. Further details, including the venue and start time, will be shared closer to the event. Attendance is open to all SAS doctors and dentists, as well as colleagues who support and work alongside the SAS workforce.

During #SASWeek2025, we highlighted the outstanding nominees from our first ever Regional SAS Awards Event, which took place in 2024. 

The event—the first of its kind in Northern Ireland—received an impressive 105 nominations across seven award categories. The quality of submissions was truly exceptional, and it was important to recognise and celebrate the achievements of all those nominated. 

Throughout SAS Week 2025, we showcased the nominees and their contributions, shining a light on the impact SAS doctors and dentists make across the Health and Social Care system. 

The awards recognised individuals who have contributed to supporting and developing SAS, demonstrating what is possible throughout an SAS career and beyond.
