Trainee Volunteer Wanted

There is a Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management Regional Conference at Belfast Castle on Thursday 12 November 2015.

The organising committee for this conference is looking for a trainee volunteer who could provide sign language interpretation for a deaf doctor who has registered for the conference.

If any trainee has skills in sign language interpretation and would be willing to volunteer to do so during this one day conference, they will receive free entry to the event.

The format of the conference is that there will be plenary sessions, two sets of five workshops , poster competitions (4 sessions in parallel), interviews (with NIMDTA ADEPT Clinical Leadership Fellows), a panel discussion and concluding remarks from the Chief Executive and Medical Director of FMLM Mr Peter Lees.

Invited speakers are Sir Liam Donaldson (Quality and safety in a modern health care system), Drs Gavin Lavery and John Simpson (Quality 2020 Attributes Framework), Mr Simon Hamilton (Health Minister) and Dr Vijaya Nath (Director of Leadership Development, King’s Fund).

The panel discussion will include Ms Jacqueline Fearon (patient representative), Dr Michael McBride (CMO), Dr Tony Stevens (Chief Executive Northern Trust), Dr Margaret O’Brien (Head of General Medical Services, HSCB) and Ms Lindsay Damkat Thomas (NIMDTA Plastic Surgery Trainee).

There was excellent feedback on the conference last year.
